In a shocking incident that has left the community reeling, a 77-year-old pedestrian lost his life after being struck by a car outside the main entrance of Miami Valley Hospital North in Englewood, Ohio. Around 3:45 p.m. on Monday, Miami Valley Hospital police and Englewood police responded to reports of a car striking pedestrians near the hospital's main entrance. An initial investigation revealed that a 60-year-old man driving a Cadillac was backing into a parking space along the west side of the hospital when he veered off the intended path, colliding with a guard shack and two pedestrians outside the main entrance.The driver then continued to reverse, striking a Kia occupied by one person and forcing it into a bus, whose driver was unharmed. Tragically, the Cadillac then proceeded to drag the two pedestrians along the sidewalk, before hitting a pole and an unoccupied car in the parking lot.

The 77-year-old pedestrian succumbed to his injuries after being transported to the hospital, while the second pedestrian, a 74-year-old man, sustained life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Cadillac, meanwhile, suffered only minor injuries.Brenda Weber, a witness to the horrific incident, described the scene as "horrific," stating, "You don't see people mowed down every day and it was hard to watch. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his wife and family, like I said it was a horrific scene, it was very heartwrenching."
