Unleashing the Power of Music and Tourism

Campers Flock to the Grounds

The Anderson County Sports and Entertainment Center has already begun welcoming the first wave of overnight campers, who have arrived early to secure their spots for the two-day festival. Concertgoer JJ Nettles, accompanied by a group of around 20 to 30 friends from Lexington, South Carolina, expressed his enthusiasm, noting that his wife is particularly excited about the event. "I think our wives are more into it," Nettles said. "They have been pumping this thing up. We're just kind of along for the ride. I brought the RV or fifth wheel or whatever you want to call it, so we'll all be up here."

Star-Studded Lineup Promises an Unforgettable Experience

The two-day Rock the Country festival will feature a lineup of renowned headliners, including Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, and Miranda Lambert. County officials are anticipating a massive influx of around 30,000 visitors solely for the concert, with an estimated economic impact of approximately million.

Accommodating the Influx of Visitors

Anderson County Administrator Rusty Burns confirmed that the majority, if not all, of the county's hotels are already fully booked in preparation for the event. The surrounding areas are also experiencing a similar surge in hotel occupancy. Burns noted that the local restaurant industry is already seeing an uptick in business, which is expected to continue to increase as the week progresses.

Recreational Vehicles Converge on the Grounds

Organizers of the Rock the Country festival are anticipating the arrival of more than 500 recreational vehicles (RVs) that will be camping outside the festival grounds throughout the weekend. Entrepreneurial Spirit Shines Through

Some individuals, like Michael Barrow, are seizing the opportunity to generate additional income by renting out their RVs during the festival. Barrow shared that he had initially planned to sell his RV, but his children convinced him to keep it, allowing him to defer some of the costs while still making it available for rental.

A Significant Tourism Event for the County

Anderson County Administrator Rusty Burns acknowledged that the Rock the Country festival is one of the most significant tourism events the county has hosted in recent years. Promoter Shane Quick echoed this sentiment, expressing his belief in the positive impact the event will have on the local community, not just during the festival weekend but throughout the entire year.

A Promising Future for the Festival

Following a news conference, promoter Shane Quick announced that the Rock the Country festival will be returning in the future, once the final notes of the last song have been played on Saturday. The music is set to begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, kicking off an unforgettable weekend of entertainment and economic opportunity for Anderson County.
