"Our Petal branch actually serves the Petal School District."These programs ensure that children not only have a safe and nurturing environment to explore their interests but also receive the academic assistance they need to thrive. "Those after-school program kids come here and get a healthy snack or healthy lunch, something to eat. They can do both physical activity and homework, and we also have tutoring," Rumph adds, highlighting the holistic approach to supporting the overall well-being of the participants.

Lieutenant Myranda Estudiante, who oversees these initiatives, explains the club's comprehensive approach: "We are an after-school program, from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We do pick up from certain schools depending on the location and how far it is from our Boys and Girls Club."The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs prioritize academic support, with a focus on personalized tutoring. "We do activities like tutoring with a four-to-one ratio for tutors to kids if they need help reading. We also do homework, help to make sure the homework is done before they get home," Estudiante elaborates, underscoring the organization's commitment to fostering educational success.Beyond the academic focus, the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs offer a diverse range of recreational and enrichment activities, ensuring that children have ample opportunities to explore their interests and develop new skills.
