"Our funding has been minimal. We usually strive for grants and foundations that can provide some money, and we're looking for a site … so we can call it our own." The organization's current location requires them to pay rent, utilities, and other basic operating expenses, which are quickly adding up and threatening their ability to remain open.

Establishing a Stability Fund

To address these financial challenges, Voices of Inspiration has set an ambitious goal of raising ,000 to create a Stability Fund. This fund would allow the organization to operate for an entire year, providing a crucial safety net and ensuring that they can continue serving the community without the constant worry of meeting their financial obligations. "That would give us, for one year, where we don't have to have the pressure of not knowing if we're going to be able to pay rent, if we're going to continue to service, if we're going to keep our lights on," explains Alberta Walker, a member of the board of directors.

Securing a Permanent Home

In addition to the Stability Fund, Voices of Inspiration is also seeking a permanent location that they can call their own. "We're looking for a site … so we can call it our own," says Lager. Owning their own facility would provide the organization with greater financial stability and the ability to focus more on their core mission of serving the community, rather than worrying about the ongoing costs of renting a space.
