I've made this no-bake cookie recipe at least a hundred times. It's the perfect combination of chewy oats, peanut butter, and cocoa. No bake chocolate oatmeal cookies were my favorite afterschool snack and now I love making them for my own kids. Here's our best no-bake cookie recipe, including tips for storing the chocolate cookies once they're set.

What Are No-Bake Cookies Made Of?

You only need a handful of ingredients to make these chocolate peanut butter no-bake cookies. First you'll cook a mixture of sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa on the stove until it boils. Then you'll mix in oats, peanut butter, peanuts (if you'd like), and vanilla extract. Drop the mixture by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet and let stand at room temperature until set. That's it!

Ingredients

  • 2 cup sugar

  • ½ cup milk

  • 1 stick butter

  • ¼ cup cocoa powder

  • 2 cup regular rolled oats

  • 1 cup peanut or almond butter

  • ½ cup chopped peanuts

  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Directions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with waxed or parchment paper; set aside. In a medium saucepan combine sugar, milk, butter, and cocoa; bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 minute; remove from heat. Stir in oats, peanut butter, peanuts, and vanilla.

  2. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and let stand at room temperature about 30 minutes or until set.

How to Store No-Bake Cookies

Store cookies in an airtight container and chill for up to 3 days.
